Agent
Two and a half years ago, we wished upon every star that a literary agent would fly down from the heaven above to represent us. We were so sure that having said literary agent would free us from the cold chains of obscurity. Then we would be able to sit back and let our agent do all of the work. And it is true to an extent that an agent represents your interests.
Now, we are finding that having an agent means working twice as hard to market ourselves to potential publishers and interviewees. We are now in charge of showing these folks why it’s beneficial for them to become involved in the book version of Makinrent.com.
This translates into writing articles for print and online publications. As well as garnering fresh interviewees for our Profiles section. At the end of the day, when we are both tired and cranky it is definitely worth it. We have come along way from our early days of botched HTML coding and technoduncery.
