More Fun with Pasta!
by Alaina R. Alexander
In the previous post, I mentioned my past expeimentation with trying new pastas. However, I neglected to mention a few other pastas that can see you through the lean times!
1. Gemeli - It looks like a corkscrew and tastes like a dream. I saute this dish in a garlic marinara sauce and serve it with a grilled chicken salad entre. In my experience, gemeli pasta doesn't work very well as a leftover dish. (However, please feel free to email me if you have any suggestions for successfully using it as a leftover).
2. Rigatoni - It's tubular and works well as a stand alone entre. I serve it with marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese. I add a Romaine lettuce side salad and garlic bread.
3. Spaghetti - In the previous post, I mentioned that I was stuck in a spaghetti rut. However, this pasta is still a great tasting and inexpensive meal option. When using this pasta make sure that your sauce has a bit of spice to it. A simple Romaine or red leaf salad with mozzarella cheese and a garlic roll will add some excitement to this basic pasta.
